Lesotho Electricity Company (LEC) invites applications from suitably qualified Basotho nationals for the position of Claims Officer.
The successful candidate will be based in the Legal, Risk and Compliance Division and will report to the Risk Manager.
Minimum Qualifications and Experience
Applicants must have:
A Bachelor of Science (BSc) in Electrical Engineering or Electronics.
A minimum of five (5) years’ experience in the electrical industry.
Knowledge of quality assurance regulations and standards.
Computer literacy and strong report-writing skills.
Good interpersonal skills.
A valid driver’s licence with at least five (5) years’ driving experience.
Key Performance Areas
Quality Assurance Inspections
Coordinate and conduct Quality of Service and Supply (QSS) inspections on a regular basis.
Identify hazards that may compromise QSS and assess associated risks.
Discuss risks, mitigation measures, and control strategies with line management.
Develop, monitor, and update quality assurance profiles.
Prepare QSS inspection reports and monitor inspections conducted by SHEQ representatives.
Develop, monitor, and update inspection checklists.
Monitor compliance with corporate, national, industry, and international QSS standards.
Conduct regular audits to ensure compliance with statutory requirements.
Investigate, monitor, and report compliance with LEC Quality of Service and Supply (QSS) standards.
Report on compliance standards and statutory compliance levels.
Public Liability Prevention
Investigate public liability incidents and establish root causes.
Develop and monitor implementation of control strategies.
Administer public liability claims, liaise with insurers, and provide feedback to customers.
Promote awareness of public liability prevention across the organisation.
Record and document incident findings.
Network Vandalism Management
Investigate network vandalism incidents in collaboration with relevant departments.
Establish and monitor trends and statistics relating to vandalism.
Communicate findings to management and staff.
Conduct awareness initiatives across all levels of the organisation.
Develop, implement, and communicate mitigation and preventative measures.
